Some files we download can harm our system and can corrupt our systems information.
So, don't download files from untrusted websites. It can harm your system.
Virus causes irritation as it slows the speed of our system or hangs our system or even corrupt our windows.
“Malware” is short for malicious software. “Malware” is the general term covering all the different types of threats to your computer safety such as viruses, spyware, worms, trojans, rootkits and so on.
You can simply say that viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, rootkits are subset of malware.

- Virus - A computer virus is a malicious software program loaded onto a user's computer without the user's knowledge and performs malicious actions. It can self-replicate, inserting itself onto other programs or files, infecting them in the process.
These viruses are made in programming languages.
- Worms - A computer worm is a standalone malware computer program that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers.
It is a program when runs ,start making copy of itself and fills the computer memory.
You can make Worm virus in programming languages like - c, c++, python, java etc.
For e.g -
I am giving a very basic logical example.
In c++, using fstream.h library you can make txt files and write a program for infinite loop to input garbage values in that file.
So, it will save the program in memory and hard disk and fills the memory after some time which will hang the system.
So, these are worms which replicates itself and make many files and consumes the memory of system.
- Trojan- Trojans can be employed by cyber-thieves and hackers trying to gain access to users' systems. A backdoor Trojan gives malicious users remote control over the infected computer. They enable the author to do anything they wish on the infected computer – including sending, receiving, launching and deleting files, displaying data and rebooting the computer.
These viruses may be keylogger. As hackers can get the keys which you stroke on your system. Like - emails, passwords, credit card numbers etc.
- Spyware -Spyware is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization, sometimes without their knowledge, that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, that asserts control over a device without the consumer's knowledge, or it may send such information to another entity with the consumer's consent, through cookies.
For e.g-
There are many software's out there by which you can control remote system by using your system by using a key given to that system by that software.
They were the some basic viruses.
There are many more viruses like boot sector virus, rootkits, ransomware etc.
